Water is one of the important sources of tourism attraction.Whether it is seas, lakes, rivers, streams or man-made water sources, all of these are values used by tourism businesses.These sources have long been one of the most popular tourism attractions for tourists.It has been the most important feature that tourists expect, especially for mass tourism and for vacations planned with a focus on rest.However, it has later been seen to develop beyond its initial use.Sports are at the forefront of these purposes and tourism types where water and sports are used together have begun to emerge.Sports activities (especially surfing and sailing) on water have become one of the important travel motivations today.Interest in this sport is increasing day by day both in Türkiye and in foreign countries.This interest causes amateur and professional athletes to prepare their holiday plans entirely towards destinations where this sport is practiced.These plans, which generally include long-term holidays, may also cause the locations of the facilities to change depending on the strength and direction of the wind.Therefore, it is extremely important to know in advance all the facilities where these sports are performed in any country.In this context, the research focused on facilities in the Republic of Türkiye.First of all, areas where kite surfing, windsurfing, sailing and cable water skiing were performed were identified.Coordinate information of the relevant facilities has been accessed.The data were analyzed with the Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) and the coordinates were displayed on the map.It is thought that this research will be a helpful resource for athletes and contribute to the development of the relevant type of tourism.Structured Abstract: Nowadays, the need for new types of tourism has become a tourist need in addition to traditional types of tourism.Niche tourism or alternative tourism types are one of the methods used to meet these needs.Both types of tourism are important for the competition of destinations in the tourism sector.New products will be added to existing resources or existing products will be differentiated and offered to tourists, and destinations will thus be able to meet new tourist expectations.These new products are also among the expectations of stakeholders serving the sector and tourists who are the end consumers.Alternative or niche tourism types, which include sports, adventure and recreational activities, have been in remarkable demand in recent years.This demand has made sports-themed tourism movements popular within the general tourism sector (Widyaningsih et al., 2019, s.50).Sports tourism, which is one of the most developing types, has started to have a growing industry in the domestic market (Ehsani et al., 2012, s.39).
